CONSISTENTLY ONE OF THE BEST IN YORK.NOT THE CHEEPEST BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.THEIR NEW CHEF HAS PREVIOUSLY WORKED AT A 2 STAR MICHELIN RESTAURANT SO THIS SHOULD MEAN FOOD THE LIKES OF WHICH YORK HAS NEVER SEEN BEFORE.SUPERB WINE LIST AND SERVICE FROM THE OWNERS SAM & MARIA. Rating: 100%

Excellent food, with a regularly-changing menu - generous portions beautifully presented. Good wine list, at realistic prices. Minimalist though comfortable surroundings, professional although maybe slightly over-attentive service. Heading towards the realms of "dining as theatre", the kind of place that really demands a special occasion. Rish isn't cheap - but you get what you pay for and a restaurant of this quality would be twice times the price in London, or even Leeds these days. If you feel like splashing out on superbly prepared modern European food then this is the place to do it. Rating: 100%
