So... how long can you survive on the good fortune of being busy simply by word of mouth? Not long enough if the great food and service that once was - goes down the pan. Many moons ago - well a few years anyway, Delrios was one of the most talked about Italian restaurants in York... because it was the best - famous for fantasic food which was once reasonably priced, not only this but the cosy venue itself uniquely located down in the depths by Micklegate Bar - now I can only say it is most famous for above average prices for below average food. Unfortunately, nothing I couldn't have cooked in my own kitchen being a descendant of Italian blood myself. Rating: 35%

Lovely restaurant, vistited it for the first time recently on my birthday one of the best italian restaurants in York, great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food...I recommend the meat balls! Rating: 95%

A restaurant with an athmosphere...! Don't look in the menu or on the chalk-boards, ask for the "specials" to be cooked as you like it. The "House Wine" is Sardinian and excellent, finish with a "Flaming Zambuca" and you will have a great evening. Don't go on Saturday's (far too busy) if you enjoy personal attention. Rating: 85%

Ate there on a Friday 7th Nov. Nice food, but it was let down by the fact we had to ask for everything (wine, dessert menu and bill etc) twice! We did not leave a tip because of this. Rating: 30%
