Yeah!!! Thought I'd try this one out as it had a 100% rating, so drove down to Bootham and ordered a load of curry stuff. It's great, was even offered a free lager while I waited. The food was spot on. Rating: 100%

Would not accept walkers free curry vouchers on take away meal. Otherwise food was very good and service friendly. Given free lager while waiting. Rating: 70%

I've got take-away from here at lunch-time before and wasn't very impressed. The nan was damp and tasted off, and my vegetable rogan josh contained something suspiciously cabbage-like. Ewww. I gave it another chance one evening tho and the food was fine, if a bit too oily. Perhaps I was unlucky the first time. Or maybe the moral is not to go there at for lunch. I'd be interested to know what others thought. It's beginning to redeem itself in my eyes. No free lager for me tho! Rating: 65%

Plus points: the maze of little rooms mean that you tend to eat somewhere different every time you go. The baltis are huge and pretty tasty. Minus points: staff tend to be a little surly, and on a couple of occasions couldn't tell me about new dishes on the menu beyond "it's not very popular". A pretty average curry house, nothing remarkable. Rating: 65%

tried again one lunchtime. what a let down on the main course. starter was good but then my madras came up as massalla. i sent it back only for them to stir some curry powder in and bring the same thing back again. service as arrogant as usual.they seem to think everyone is a tourist. not to be recommended any more unfortunately as it is one of the few indians now open lunchtime in york. Rating: 10%
