Traditional. That's about the only description you can use for either branch of Russell's. It's unashamedly a very British carvery, and the formula of one or more meats and your selection of veg and associated trimmings is what it's all about - I can't see why you'd go there for anything else. Of its kind, Russell's is excellent. Once in a while we all feel the urge for a roast dinner, and Russell's do it about as well as you're likely to find it. Drinks, desserts and starters are all pretty expensive, although I find myself just dropping in for a main course and a beer a couple of times a year when I feel the urge for roast beef and yorkshire pudding!
