At the Sangthai restaurant we take pride in preparing all the elements of our dishes from fishcakes and spring rolls to our own-recipe spicy sausage and dipping sauces. We even roast the peanuts to accompany your drinks!

Cycled along the millenium cycle track from York city centre on hire bikes. Left the track near Escrick and parked up at the Sangthai. We were surprised to find that there was an outdoor boarded eating area with bamboo furniture and canopies and a lovely water feature. It was idillic. Then there was the food! We took a risk and chose for ourselves so perhaps the mix wasn't perfect, but it was stunning. Such powerful flavours. The service was perfect, attentive but not at all intrusive. If I had to complain about anything I'd say it was a little expensive, but I'd definitely go back. Rating: 98%

Quite simply the best Thai restaurant in the region...beautiful surroundings.....fantastic oblidging staff....wonderful "fresh" Thai dishes, and a great wine list! Just superb! Rating: 100%%
